The agency takes the lead in the development of Downtown has a new website to go with its new name: the Commission Downtown Memphis.

Help for Goodyear workers
Tennessee, Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Karla Davis and state Sen. Roy Herron will hold a public meeting at 4:00 p.m. today at the Obion County Courthouse to discuss the closure of the Goodyear plant in Union City this month it, which cost 1,900 workers their jobs.
Davis and Herron will be available to citizens, to discuss opportunities for education to prepare workers for future jobs and talk more jobs in rural West Tennessee.
"I asked Commissioner Davis and his staff to make sure everything is implemented by the state to help working families who have lost their jobs at Goodyear," Herron said Wednesday.
The State Department of Labor and Workforce Development has opened a special career center at 204 S. Second to Union City to help employees of Goodyear and is now the orientation and workshops.
Rapid Park site goes mobile
