They have house-made She Crab Soup complete with sherry, Crab Cakes made with lump meat and daily specials like shrimp sauté full of fresh locally grown vegetables. Manager Mandy Dennis-Hunnell says any dish can be tweaked to customers' preferences if the kitchen has the ingredients, and that "Anything can be grilled, blackened or steamed." So far their seafood bakes are selling extremely well. They go for market price (right now $32 for two, or $55 for four people) and include corn on the cob, Snow Crab legs, oysters, clams, local shrimp and fish of the day such as flounder, triggerfish or whiting. Cherry Grove Seafood Hut is at 203 Sea Mountain Highway, and the number is 249-8700.in the spot that was formerly Maggie D's in the Socastee area at Boardwalk Shopping Center at 4620 Dick Pond Rd. Now a sunny yellow dining room is where diners can have daily breakfasts or lunches with egg plates, omelets, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches and, a specialty of the house, liver mush. For lunch they have common finger foods, salads and sandwiches, and there's a daily special. The number is 293-3002.
