Cost: $4.25 Phindings: The Ol' Phoodmeister was rather saddened when he learned Peace O' Pizza on Ashburn Alley had disappeared from the CBP culinary roster, as it was a particular favorite when it came to what is arguably America's favorite fast food. Unfortunately, its replacement, Seasons Pizza, did nothing to lessen the sense of loss and melancholy precipitated by Peace O' Pizza's departure.
The best part of my rather unsatisfying slice was the thick, chewy crust that formed its foundation. It boasted a nice texture and there was real flavor to be discerned.
Unfortunately by the time I purchased the item, the cheese had begun to solidify into a fairly flavorless slab, rendering it tough to sample.
As one who considers sauce equally, if not more, important than cheese and toppings when it comes to pizza, I was thoroughly disappointed on that score. What little sauce could be detected (apparently it was applied with an eyedropper) could barely be tasted.
That the slice had obviously been out of the oven for a substantial amount of time and was air temperature at best, only made a bad situation worse.
